WATERCOLOURS


- Water-colours can basically be defined as water-based trasparent paint in whitch it is the paper that provides the painting with its whites and luminosity.
- The same permanent pigments are used as in the production of oil paints. It is bound toghether with a water solution of arabic gum.
- The fine pigment particles are trapped in the gaps in the fibres of the paper, where it is fixed thanks to the arabic gum.
- It dries through the simple evaporation of the water base.
- Water-colour paint that has dried on the palette can, without any problem, be softened up with water to be used again.
